Professional bookbinder | Specializing in family Bible repair

Alum Creek Bookbinder Services

Handwritten cookbooks passed down from grandma, Bibles with legal records scrawled in the margins, encyclopedias, children’s picture books– we’ve seen and sewn it all.

No pages are too crumbly and no spine is too shredded to look as good as new. We can add pages, create brand new fabric-finished and engraved covers and, of course, re-bind any book to be strong enough to endure centuries to come.

Prices can vary depending on the size of the book, number of pages, special care needed or other factors. We are more than happy to give you a free estimate. To get an idea of what the cost might be to repair your book, consider that the basic rate for a regular personal Bible is about $70 plus tax. Family Bibles can reach between $100 and $200, sometimes higher.

We know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but a strong, personalized and well-crafted cover does radiate a good impression. If your book needs a cover, we can craft one to fit it snugly. It’s sort of like giving your pages a whole new home: we’ll construct the framework, then wallpaper it with a new coat of high-quality fabric. We’ve got a full collection of hues for your book to wear. Choose your favorite or if you know your book well enough, match its message with a tone that seems to fit.

Add your own personal touch and engrave your family name, a brief message or a sentimental quote onto your book in shimmering gold or silver.  A basic name stamp costs $5.00.

Our years of experience allow us to salvage any text, so if your book needs to be separated page by page, we can put it back together with a fancy new finish, tenderly threading it back together to secure it for centuries to come. We guarantee that our careful work will stand up to the test of time, every time.

Ron is craftier beyond his bookbinding expertise! Our Master Bookbinder can also build custom made boxes for Bibles and other books to help shield them from the elements (and the pets, and the kids, and whatever else it might encounter).  Each box is made to partner specifically with a book, so it will be a perfect fit.

If you are interested in these services, or if you have other bookbinding woes, send us your book or contact us. Feel free to call if you’d like any more details about our work or if you’d like a free estimate.
